Painless loss of vision over several mnths/years

Will the patient suffer from other eye symptoms apart from loss of vision?
A
No
Will present with many signs of visual loss though
- blurring of vision
- haziness in bright light
- haloes around light
- faded colours

How is cataracts resolved?
A
Cataract surgery - remove lens and replace with new functioning lens

What is important to note about cataract surgery if a patient has a cataract in both eyes?
A
Do the worst eye first
Only ever one eye at a time
