Check for FAS
- Small head (when checking OFC)

- Pay particular attention to feet during the examination as club feet is fixed into positioning

- Maculopapular rashes in palms of hand or feet
- Snuffles - blocked nose
- Organ damaged to liver and spleen – check when palpating abdomen
- Damaged to eyes – red reflexes etc
significance of chlamydia?
Higher risk of:
- low birth weight
- eye infections due to passing through birth canal (sticky eye etc – swab)
- lung infections – due to passing through birth canal
- premature rupture of membranes
is labetalol safe and implications on baby?
baby may have low blood sugar, blood sugars should be monitored. Check documentation. Breastfeeding is not affected and no side effects noted.
is citalopram safe and implications on baby?
baby is sleepy, reluctant to feed, heart detect.

Due to IVF, dad’s history may not be available
If it is and dad is a sickle cell carrier, there is a higher chance for baby. Therefore, referral to Genetic counselling along with fetal medicine support.

- Loss of consciousness
what is the significance of rubella?
No history of MMR vaccine, we can assume there can be impacts on baby
- Deafness
- cardiac abnormalities
- congenital cataracts
- microcephaly
- learning impairments.
what is the significance of breech after 36 weeks?
USS referral to orthopaedics after 36 weeks breech
- close attention to hips, checking for any dislocation
