what does need to know involve?
The need to know - They need to understand why they need to learn what they are being taught.
what does self-concept involve?
Adult learners are more likely to learn better if they can learn autonomously, directed study. The teacher should provide them with the right tools to do so.
what does learning experience involve?
adults have a deeper pool of life experience which influences they motivations, need, goals and motivation. Important to help learners learn their own learning objective based on their needs and interest. And provide opportunity for reflection.
what does readiness to learn involve?
Readiness to learn - adults want to apply what they learn to real life, therefore, tasks and projects should encourage them to independently research
what does orientation to learning involve?
Orientation to learning - task and problem centred in their orientation to learning. Idea of adult learners want to see how the information solves real life situations.
what does motivation to learn involve?
Motivation to learn - motivation in internal, there must be a valid reason behind each activity and must highlight the skills they will gain from this.
what are the VARK learning styles?
- Visual - pictures, videos, posters, graphs symbols
- Kinaesthetic - sense, experience, real life examples, hands-on approach, trial and error
- Auditory - attend classes and workshops, use recording device
Reading and writing - list and handouts, reading and writing notes, textbooks
