Answer 1

1. Identify all symptoms
2. Note other relevant info related to the onset and duration of symptoms
3. List all possible diagnoses based on present symptoms (even if diagnostic criteria is not met)
4. Eliminate the diagnoses for which diagnostic criteria is not met
5. Make sure diagnostic criteria for primary diagnosis is fully met (comorbid diagnosis, if applicable)
