CardioVascular 2 Flashcards

1
Q

What can you compare veinules to and what are they?

A

Veinues are small caliber veins taht follow capillaries

as such they are similar to capillaries but larger

Q

Characteristics of Veine de petit calibre?

A

Trois couches, mais LEI absente
Pas de LEE, mais fibres élastiques dans l’adventice*

Média plus mince qu’artère de même diamètre
Well defined adventice with Fibres élastiques longitudinales*

Q

Vasa vasorum difference between an artery and vein?

A

Vein -> because of the thicker adventice, the majority of the vein is fed by vasa vasorum branches and only part is fed by blood in the lumiere

One key difference between arteries and veins is the low pressure of blood in veins

As such, we need to compensate for the lack of oxygen diffused to feed the vessicles → more vasa vasorum
