A
Work like skeletal muscle cells- however they’re arranged in branching networks
Connected by intercalated discs- transmit action potential to a network of cells

What is functional syncytium?
A
Mass of merging cells that act as a unit
One exists in the atria (atrial syncytium)
One in the ventricles (ventricular syncytium)
