What are some Osteoporosis Treatments?
HRT (oestrogen/testosterone)
• Anabolic steroids (Nandralone)
• Calcitonin – hormone - improves action of osteoclasts
• Bisphosphonates – non-hormonal – switch off osteoblasts
• Reduce alcohol and nicotine intake
• Regular exercise
• Vitamin D (Calcitriol – an active form of Vit D)
• Calcium
