Q

Risk factors for leukemia

A

Prenatal exposure to environmental toxins

Q

Where are neuroblastomas typically found and what might symptoms relate to?

A

Usually form in the adrenal medulla. Tumors are usually found in the abdomen. If tumors are in the adrenal gland, flight or fight symptoms may be noted

Q

Key thing to know about neuroblastoma

Q

Patho of medulloblastoma

A

Tumor that arises from embryonic cells. Usually forms in the cerebellum

17
Q

What is ANC? How do you calculate? What are the ranges and infection risks related to each level.

A

Absolute neutrophil count. segments + bands (in decimals) multiplied by the total WBC count. Normal is 1500-2500, minimal risk is 1000-1500, moderate risk is 500-1000, great risk for infection is anything less than 500
