what are the attachment styles?

A
  1. secure (distress when mum leaves, happy & hugs when comes back)
  2. insecure ambivalent (distress when mum left, fear of stranger & goes to mum when returns but no physical contact)
  3. insecure avoidant (no interest when mum leaves, happy with stranger)

what is type A and type C general idea (attachment styles)?

A

type A (avoidant) = negative self view, indifferent to other people’s views, hard to engage (avoid people - think people hate them)

type C (ambivalent) = low self worth, disruptive, hard to manage, impulsive (don’t trust people)

A

secure base = attachment figure that provides safe space

safe haven = attachment figure that provides safe place where retreat to in times of danger & anxiety

what are subtypes of reactive attachment disorder (RAD)?

A
  1. inhibited = child who doesn’t seek comfort in parent/caregiver at times of alarm
  2. disinhibited = child who shows excessive familiarity in strangers

what is conduct disorder? types?

A

= repetitive or persistent behaviour where basic rights of other violated (no boundaries)

  1. mild - moderate (restricted to fam environment)
  2. severe
    1. unsocialised = mostly violent - dealt with in justice system
    2. socialised = more low key antisocial acts - better at avoiding jail

A

= 3 or more in past 12 months (with 1 in past 6)

  1. aggression to people or animals
  2. destruction of property
  3. deceitfulness or theft
  4. serious violation of rules

x-linked recessive genetic disease causing muscle weakness & wasting (defective gene for dystrophin on x-chromosome)

A

usually starts at age 3-5yrs with pelvis muscle weakness and then progressively gets worse affecting all muscles
