What is an establishing shot?
Extreme wide shot which shows setting and the action to follow.
What is a long shot?
Shows the entire subject and some background, intended to place audience into context
What is an extreme close-up?
One part of face or object, creates intense mood, interaction between audience and thee subject
What is a Close up shot?
It enables viewers to easily understand emotions of actor,encourages sympathy.
What is a mid shot?
Shows more detail of the body, decode emotion and body language, vital to audiences understanding.
What is a two shot?
Places two characters together to allows audience to judge relation via body language.
What is POV shot?
Puts audience in perspective of a character can be used for “male gaze”.
What is shot and reverse shot?
Showing how people interact and how they feel towards one and other.
What is a reaction shot?
Key moments within a scene, functions as an exclamation mark to reveal characters thoughts.
What are 5 camera angles and their definition?
Low angle shot- lower than the subject
High angle shot- higher than the subject
Eye level- puts audience and same eye level
Cut in- highlights other parts of subject (hand movements)
Cut away- shot to show something other than main subjects
What is a tracking shot?
When the camera follows a character and/or an action. Making audience feel involved.
What is a panning shot?
It shows the landscape and what’s happening, slowly and fast.
What is a tilt shot?
Fixed shot up and down, audience make an assumption about a character
