CAMBRA (end of cario intro lec) Flashcards
what indicates extremely high risk
inadequate flow of saliva by observation or measurement
what indicates high caries risk (our form)
one or more disease indicators OR
three or more risk factors OR
high acidogenic bacterial load by measurement (ATP meter >1500)
ADA: if less than 6 yrs old- any of the following ; any lesion in past 3 years, multiple risk factors, low socioeconomic status, suboptimal fluoride exposure, xerostomia
if older than 6 years old- any of the following: 3 or more lesions in past 3 years, multiple risk factors, suboptimal fluoride exposure, xerostomia
what indicates moderate caries risk (our form)
one or two risk factors in the absence of any disease indicators
ADA: no lesion in last 3 years but at least 1 risk factor for less than 6 yrs old
-1 or more lesion in past 3 years or at least 1 risk factor if older than 6 yrs
what indicates low caries risk (our form)
no disease indicators and no risk factors
ADA: no incipient or cavitated primary or secondary lesions in past 3 years and no risk factors
what are listed disease indicators on axium form
- cavities / into dentin ; radiograph
- approximal enamel lesions
- white spots on smooth surfaces
- restorations in last 3 years

-visible plaque (heavy)
-frequent snacks more than 3x a day
-deep pits and fissures
-recreational drug use
