Calamity climate change question Flashcards
List
Carbon cycle
- Photosynthesis: Plants absorb carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere during photosynthesis. They convert it into glucose (a sugar) and other organic molecules.
- Consumption: Animals consume plants, incorporating the carbon compounds into their bodies.
- Respiration: During respiration, both plants and animals release CO₂ back into the atmosphere.
- Decomposition: When organisms die, decomposers break down their remains. Carbon in their bodies is returned to the atmosphere as CO₂.
- Fossil Fuels: Under certain conditions, decomposition is blocked, and plant and animal material may become fossil fuels (like coal, oil, and natural gas) over long periods. These fuels can be burned, releasing it back into the atomsphere
- Oceanacidfication:For underwater plants to recieve CO₂, it must be dissolved the ocean via the atomsphere. But this process makes the oceans, ever so slightly more acidic, incorperating carbonic acid into the water cycle

How much of the world forest have been deforested
420 million hectares(31%)
Why do we need forest to stop climate change
As so to absorb Carbon dioxide, and therefore reduce GHE

Recycling
The act of taking used material to be converted back into raw materials
Define
Greeenhouse Effect
(GHE)
When infrared radiation is trapped in our atomsphere
Define

(GW)
When the Earth’s average temperature is increasing per 15 years
Define
Global cooling
(GC)
When the Earth’s average temperature is decreasing per 15 years
