Q

A sample of magnesium contains 78.60% magnesium-24, 10.11% magnesium-25 and 11.29% magnesium-26

A

(78.60x24)+(10.11x25)+(11.29x26) / 100 = 24.3 (1.12)

Q

RAM formula

A

Because of isotopes the relative atomic mass is not always a whole number. It is linked to the mass of the isotopes and the abundance.
The relative atomic mass of an isotope = (% x isotope1) + (% isotope2) + (% x isotope3)… / 100
