Should include prep work or homework

What is the purpose of a lesson plan?
To provide the instructor with a write outline for each lesson.
What are some characteristics of a good lesson plan?
Unity, must be a unified segment of instruction
Content, should contain new material that relates to past lessons
Scope, must be a reasonable amount to learn
Practical, planned in accordance with conditions
Flexible, room for add ons or alteration
Relate, to course of training
What are the instructional steps? PPAR
Preperation
Presentation
Application
Review and evaluation
Organization of Material
Introduction - attention, motivation and overview
Development - past to present, simple to complex, known to unknown, frequently used to least used
Conclusion - recaps important elements, wraps up and review.
What are some training delivery methods?
Lecture method - illustrated talk, briefing, formal, informal. Least effective for evaluation, little student participation
Guided discussion - draws on student knowledge, includes introduction, discussion and conclusion.
Computer assisted learning - PC based, student sets the pace.
Demonstration-performance method - instructor does instructor explains, student does instructor explains, student does student explains.
Drill & practice - practice, practice, practice
What is problem based learning?
Environment where a problem is encountered in real life that forces the student to reach a real world solution
