Ascending:
Physiological needs - food, shelter, water, sleep, etc.
Safety & security - health, employment, property, etc.
Love & belonging - friendship, family, sex, etc.
Self-esteem - confidence, achievement, respect, etc.
Self-actualization - morality, purpose, meaning, etc.

A

Stress and anxiety.
Stress is mental strain resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances
Anxiety is the feeling of worry, nervousness or unease often about something that is going to happen.
Normal response, is a rapid and exact response within the limit of experience
Abnormal response, is extreme over cooperation, painstaking self control, laughing, singing, etc.

A

Lack of common experience, the greatest barrier.
Confusion between symbol and symbolized object.
Overuse of abstractions.
Interference, or outside sources.

A

Role Playing - use new knowledge to apply to a given scenario
Instructional communication - use of past experience to illustrate a point.
Listening - you must want to listen
