Rules for internal
Trees 18” d use 1 hole
Trees greater than 18” d use 2 holes
Holes should be 2” d and 2/3 deep
Efficient means internal
Rules for external
Charges should be rectangular 1-2” thick twice as wide than high
Circular timber charge should cover 1/2 the circumfrance
To influence direction of fall use 1 lb kicker 2/3 up tree opposite of main charge
Quickly means external
Rules for ring charge
Explosive band should be as wide as possible
At least 1/2” thick for trees up to 15” thick
1” thick for trees up to 30” thick
Rules for abatis
Charges placed 5’ above ground level
Use kicker charges when necessary
Ensure obstacles at least 75 meters in depth
Diameter of trees should be at least 2’
