C&P Advanced Steel Flashcards
What are the 4 types of advanced steel charges?
Ribbon
C-shaped ribbon
Saddle
Diamond
Rules for ribbon
Formula
Used on flat steel up to 3” thick
Greater than 3” test shot
Primed single cap center or either end
S2: CT= 1/2 TT - CW= CTx3 - CL= length of cut
S3: / volume charge used ex: m112=20 m186=9
Rules formula for c-shape ribbon
Detcord branchlines must be same length connected with british junction
M151 can replace detcord
S2: ct x cw x cl Tf Bf W S4:/chg volume
Saddle rules and formula
Uses cross fracture cutting method
Used on mild steel bars (round, square, rectangular) up to 8” diameter
Charge is 1” thick primed at apex of long axis
S2: circumference/ 2 = base B2=cv
S4: cv/ pkg volume
Rules and formula for diamond
Uses stress wave method of cutting
Used on high carbon, and alloy steel 8” diameter
Same formula as saddle chg
S2: cv= B2
S4: cv/ pkg volume
