Claim
A viewpoint that you will create, support, and dissent. It must be debatable.
Claim of fact
Stated as if it were true or false
Claim of value
Asks your audience to a valuate the worth or value something – good, better, or worse.
Qualifier
A word or phrase that gives the claim some flexibility
Support
Used to back up the claim
What are the eight types of support?

- prediction
Statistic support
Not the fact but gives them the feel of a fact
Expert opinion support
Uses opinions of experts
Analysis support
Involves looking at data and research and investigate it and comparing it for trends.
Experience support
Personal experience- use with other types of support
Analogies support
Another way to make a comparison
Anecdote support
The short story that helps illustrate the point- must be brief.
Fact support
Actual facts- hard to argue if you have them.
Prediction support
When you take analyzed data and fraud evidence you have about it or make a prediction for future trends.
