What is the Gateway process?

A
  1. Gateway 1 - planning permission. Demonstrate that fire risk has been considered in the design.
  2. Gateway 2 (12-week) - submission of prescribed documents for approval before construction can commence.
  3. Gateway 3 (8-weeks) - submission of completion information and as builts inline with prescribed documents. Approval required before occupation.

How is change treated?

A
  1. Notifiable changes must be notified to the BS before the works can be carried out.
  2. “Major changes” a change control application must be made and approved before the works can be undertaken. The BBS then has six weeks to make its decision.
