  • characterized by wheezing & airway obstruction d/t primary infection/reinfection with a viral or bacterial pathogen

  • mild respiratory distress

  • tachypnea, intercostal, & subcostal retractions
  • wheeze
  • prolonged expiratory phase
  • crackles

  • hyperresonance to percussion
