The Jarrow crusade
A
- workers from Jarrow in the northeast marched to London in 1936 to protest the poverty and deprivation suffered under the depression
- they occurred all over Britain during the 1930s and were known as the “hunger marches”

- be develop social contract where in exchange of unions not claiming excessive wages increase the gov would offer subsides
- repealed the industrial relations act which has angered the unions
- has to ask for a loan from the IMF to cover Britain’s debts in 1976
