Excisional biopsy
A
Ask radiology to place a radiactive seed next to the biopsy clip
Use gamma probe to localize the seed and excise the tissue surrounding the clip along with palpably abnormal tissue.
Confirm that the mass contains both the seed and the clip and send for pathology

Axillary dissection
A
Incise lateral to pectoralis major muscles
find Axillary vein by following lat superiorly
Identify thoracodorsal and long thoracic bundles

A
Create inferior and superior skin flaps
Boundaries of clavicle, inframammary fold, latissimus dorsi, sternal edge
Dissect pectoralis fascia
place orienting sutures
Place drains
