This yoga is dedicated to the physical practice and the use of the body as a means to break you free and aim toward liberation. This is the most widely practiced branch of yoga in the United States. It consists of Asana and Pranayama. Elements of other branches of yoga classes may be incorporated into this type of class.

The word Hatha is Sanskrit means?
“Forceful”, force of nature
Known as the yoga of wisdom and knowledge. This path, through the study of texts and philosophy helps us to discriminate what is real from our perceptions.
Jnana Yoga
This is called the royal path. This branch of yoga is classical yoga grounded in meditation and the eight limbed path set forth in the yoga sutras. This path is for students capable of steadfast concentration.
Raja Yoga
This is the path of devotion. This branch of yoga is the journey of self-surrender and gratitude practice as it calls the practicioner to see the divine aspect of all things.
Bhakti Yoga
This is the path of Seva (Selfless Service). Karma is the Sanskrit word for action so it may appropriately be called the yoga of action. This branch of yoga is often associated with charity work but goes beyond performing a good deed. Seva is offered without attatchment to acknowledgment for the action.
Karma Yoga
This is the yoga of ritual and continuity. This path may include (but not limited to) visualization, subtle energy work, self - transcending action, the perception that the ordinary world and the spirtual world coincide. It calls the practicioner to bring a spirtual and ritualistic aspect into all that we do.
Tantra Yoga

Kundalini Yoga
This is the yoga of sacred and potent sound. The practicioner uses the recitation of empowered sounds to channel their concentration and align one’s energy to manifest the desired response. Some texts will consider this to be an aspect of tantra yoga.
Mantra Yoga
A style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to the other, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow yoga” and is sometimes confused with “Power Yoga”.
Vinyasa Yoga
What does Vinyasa mean?
To place in a special way or movement with intention.

Aerial Yoga
The sensitivity of the healing arts blended with the strength of acrobatics and the wisdom of yoga. It is a partner based yoga and sometimes thai massage is included.
AcroYoga
Means union and has many alternative paths to observe study and contemplate the mysteries of the nature of our own minds. Each path is similar in so far as the aim of each is to transform one’s current condition to reach a higher level of consciousness.
Yoga
This form of yoga was developed by Pattabhi Jois and is a vigorous style of yoga that incorporates set sequences or series of postures where the breath is linked with movement. Typically, we engage our root lock in this yoga and use Ujjayi Breathing.
Ashtanga
This style of yoga is performed in a very warm and humid studio. There are many different types of yoga practices with this yoga.
Hot Yoga
What is the Bikram form of yoga?
During the Bikram form of hot yoga the room is generally heated to approximately 105 F and has a humidity of 40 percent. Bikram yoga is typically 90 minutes and is designed to raise the heart rate and and excercise the muscles.
This yoga is defined in tantra as energy that lies within the body, frequently at the navel or the base of the spine. In normative tantric systems ______ is considered to be dormant until it is activated and channeled upward through the central channel in a process of spiritual perfection.
Kundalini Yoga
This yoga has a great therapeutic impact during times of illness, injury, pain, stress and overscheduled lives. It helps to cultivate a healing enviroment in the body by balancing the nervous system’s optimal energy flow resotring us at physical, physiological, energetic and emotional level.
Restorative Yoga
This yoga is a style of yoga that is characterized by its longer held static positions with a focus on increasing flexibility in myofascial tissues (muscles) and increased range of motion in the joints.
