Solid tumours with central necrosis and rim enhancing, vasogenic oedema
What is the histology of GBM?
Pleomorphic tumour cells order necrotic areas
What is the 2nd most common primary brain tumour in adults?
Meningioma
What do meningiomas arise from?
Arachnoid cap cells of meninges, typically located next to dura
Where are meningiomas usually located?
Flax cerebri
Superior sagittal sinus
Skull base

What are vestibular schwannomas?
Benign tumour arising from 8th cranial nerve (vestibulocochlear nerve)
What is the presentation of vestibular schwannoma?
Hearing loss
Facial nerve palsy (due to compression of facial nerve)
Tinnitus
What are vestibular schwannomas associated with?
Bilateral = neurofibromatosis type 2
Where are ependymomas seen?
4th ventricle, may cause hydrocephalus
What are oligodendromas?
Benign slow growing tumours in frontal lobes
What are haemangioblastomas?
Vascular tumour of cerebellum
