Hypoxemia
Acidosis
Hypothermia
Toxic ingestion/exposure
Cardiac Infarct
Late shock
Increased ICP
When is bradycardia treated
Only with symptomatic patients
Common S/S of bradycardia
Hypotension
AMS
Shortness of Breath
Chest Pain
Pulmonary Edema
CHF
First line medication for stable symptomatic bradycardia
Atropine
0.5 - 1 mg IV/IO
Repeat every 3-5 minutes
Max dose of 3 mg
Treatment of unstable bradycardia (CASH)
External Transcutaneous Pacing
Drugs used for sedation while pacing
Versed
2mg IVP/IO/IN/IM
May repeat once
Valium
5mg IVP/IO/IN/IM
May repeat once
Treatment if pacemake is ineffective
Dopamine or Epinephrine Infusion
What may be considered before max dose of Atropine
Pacing
What should be omitted in prescence of 2nd or 3rd degree AV Block
Atropine (Proceed to Pacing)
What treatment should be used in prescence of Right Ventricular MI
Pacing in combination with IV fluids prior to use of atropine
