Erb’s Palsy
A
Paralysis of the upper brachial plexus including 5th and 6th cranial nerves, and sometimes C7
Muscles paralyzed or weak in arm, arm cannot be raise
Arm straight with wrist fully bent (waiters tip)
Contractures may develop after 6 mos
Must position and do ROM exercises to retain movement

Klumpke’s palsy
A
A paralysis of the lower brachial plexus inclined 7th and either cervical and first thoracic nerves
Paralysis of hand and wrist
Hand is limp an fingers do not move
