What are the four steps of the Chain of Survival ?
Early recognition and call for help (to prevent cardiac arrest) or immediate recognition of cardiac arrest and call for help

What is the correct depth for compressions ?
5-6 cm
What is the correct amount of compressions per minute ?
100-120
Where is the correct hand position ?
In the middle of the lower half of the sternum
How long should you blow in ventilations ?
1 second
When should you stop ?
Qualified help arrives, victim shows signs of regaining consciousness (coughing, speaking, opening eyes) AND starts to breath normally, you become exhausted
What is the success rate for bystander CPR ?
10.5%
What is the percentage of oxygen in a) Air b) Expired Air ?
a) 21% b) 16%
What examples of are signs of life ?
Breathing and pulse.
Why should no one touch the victim while the AED is analysing rhythm ?
Because someone else’s heart rhythm may interfere with victim’s.
Where should the AED pads be placed ?
One to the right of the sternum, below the clavicle. The other one in the left mid-axillary line (clear of any breast tissue)
