A

outer layer

  • attached to skull and arachnoid
  • 2 layers fused with exceptions for sinuses
  • above cerebrum

Arachnoid

A
  • delicate, loosely attached
  • projections of arachnoid villi pierce dura and protrude into sinus
  • allows CSF into sinuses
  • subarachnoid hemorrhage = blood on brain, worst kind!
