Describe the Following Crew Positions:
MC
Qualified Pilot or NFO. Responsibile for all phases of mission. Directs the coordinatedplan of action.
TC (TACCO)
Employs the appropriate T’s & P’s to carry out mission plan. Initiates plan of action for all crewmembers and continuously monitor, review, and revise plan as situation dictates.
CT (COTAC)
Responsible for assisting the TACCO in all responsibilities
AAW
Acoustic Air Warfare Operator. Detect, classify, and report contact data. Ensure Audio information is recorded to media.
EWO
Electronic Warfare Operator. Utilizes RADAR, IFFI, ESM, EO/IR systems as directed by TACCO to detect and analyze targets of operational significance and to provide RADAR intercept and Nav info to flight deck & TACCO
Describe the following safety of flight crew members:
PPC
Patrol Plane Commander. Responsible for safety, accurate navigation, and orderly conduct of flight.
Patrol Plane Pilot (2P)
NATOPS qualified pilot that ensures the safe conduct of flight. In the event of PPC disability, the 2P shall assume their authority.
Patrol Plane Co-Pilot (3P)
Performs duties of pilot, co-pilot, observer etc.
Pilot (P)
P refers to left seat pilot. Could be PPC, 2P, 3P
Co-Pilot (CP)
Responsible for assisting the P in assigned duties.
Pilot Flying (PF)
PF has immediate responsibility for, and the control of the aircraft.
Pilot Monitoring (PM)
monitors all maneuvers conducted by the PF and brings to their attention any deviation from normal operation
Augment Pilot (AP)
performs duties specifically in the flight deck or in support of the PF & PM but does not occupy a P or CO seat.
Observer (OB)
responsible for pre flight safety of flight duties, in flight emergency systems, and post flight duties.
Ordnance Qualified Crewmember
Responsible for obtaining mission search stores as required by TACCO and ensure they are properly loaded
