outpouching extending from the bladder

stasis may be seen along with sludge

dilation of the ureter and bladder wall appears thick

echogenic mass
what is a papilloma?
considered stage 0 for transitional cell carcinoma

painless hematuria, frequency, and dysuria
what is the sonographic appearance for papillomas?
0.5-2cm echogenic mass
what is a ureterocele?
cystlike enlargement of the lower ureter caused by stenosis of the distal end of the ureter
what is the ultrasound appearance of ureterocele?
at distal ureter where it enters the bladder, thin-walled cystic structures on posterior wall of bladder
what is the most common bladder malignancy?
transitional cell carcinoma
what is the sonographic appearance of transitional cell carcinoma?
irregular, hypoechoic mass that disrupts the smooth bladder wall
