What’s the correct boot sequence for a PC?

What is the BIOS?
Basic Input/Output System. Allows the OS to interact with certain hardware of your computer
What does POST stand for? What is it?
Power on self test. It is a series of system checks performed by the BIOS and other component.
What are you doing when you “flash the BIOS”?
Updating it.
What does UEFI and BIOS stand for?
- Unified Extensible Firmware Interface.

What is secure boot?
UEFI feature the secures the boot by requiring properly signed digital software.
What does AHCI do, and how do you enable it?
AHCI enables “hot swapping” and other advanced features for SATA.
It must be enabled in the BIOS before the OS is installed.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
What is TPM?
Security used for HDD encryption. Stores keys, passwords, certificates, or encryption keys.
