Q

differ between abiogenesis and biogenesis

A

-abiogenesis is a theory, a natural process that leads to evolution of life forms from non living matter, believes in spontaneous generation.
-biogenesis is the truth, the development of life forms from pre-existing life, synthesis of chemical compounds or structures in living organisms.

Q

who are the people of abiogenesis and what theories and experiments did they provide?

A
  1. ARISTOTLE, fish and frogs come from mud/ flies come from rotting meat
  2. VAN HELMONT, mice can be created from from grains of wheat and a dirty shirt,
  3. NEEHAM, killed microbes in container of meat broth, later microbes reappeared.

Q

who are the people of biogenesis and what theories and experiments did they provide?

A

1.REDI, placed meats in open jars, repeated with closed jars, flies only in open jars, repeated with mesh over top to allow active ingredient, same result
2. SPALLANZANI, boiled meat broth and killed microbes open jar got them back closed didn’t.
3.PASTEUR, boiled meat broth in swan flask to allow air flow, no microbes appeared, they were all caught in bend of the flask.
