use caution/not at all with pt’s with asthma
use cautiosly with pt with; hypotension, PVD, diabetes
Beta blockers: usual doses
starting at 25mg-100 mg once or twice daily
can be given orally or IV

give immediatly with or shortly after food
monitor blood glucose closely

absense of chest pain
absence of dysrhythmia
normotensive
control of heart failure symptoms

avoid sudden changes in positon
do not crush or chew
