Q

What is Extinction?

A

Q

What is generalization?

A

Other similar stimuli/situations to the CS evoke the CR.

i.e. the way you say something to your dog probably evokes a similar response regardless of the actual words

Q

How do you treat phobias with classical conditioning?

A

Pair an UCS (deep breathing) with the CS (the phobia) in order to get the UCR (relaxation)
The UCR will become the CR to the CS (phobia evokes relaxation)

Q

Describe Systematic Desensitization

A

Mira makes a list of fears with feet being number 1.
1. you have her talk about feet while meditating
2. Show her pictures of feet while meditating
3. Show her your feet while meditating
4. Have her touch your feet.

Q

According to research does Punishment or Reinforcement seem to work better?

A

Reinforcement. Punishment only temporarily suppresses behavior, is not applicable in all situations, and does not demonstrate the correct behavior.

Doesn’t matter, kids these days should be smacked around a little like i was as a wee lad!
