Antipsychotic that blocks dopaminergic D2 receptors in the brain
Indications
Treatment for SAAAADD schizophrenia, acute psychosis, acute mania, autistic disorder, agitation, delirium, dementia
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, parkinson’s
Dosage/ Route of Administration
5-10 mg IM

binds to GABA receptors decreasing cerebral irritability, sedation, & stopping generalized seizures
Indication
SAD - Status Epilepticus, anxiety relief, Delirium tremens
Contraindication
HHRS - Hypersensitivity, hypotension, respiratory impairment, shock,
Dosage/ Route of administration
2-4 mg IV diluted in an equal volume of saline
0.5-2 mg IV anxiety
Midazolam / Versed
Classification
Sedative
MOA
Binds to the GABA receptor acting as a short acting CNS depressant, calming relaxation effect on the skeletal muscle and inducing sleep, also helps with seizures
Indications
SAS! seizure control, anxiolysis, sedation post intubation
Contraindications
RAHHCCS - Respiratory arrest, acute renal failure, Hypersensitivity, hypotension, chronic heart failure, coma, shock
Dosage/ Route of administration
BSRIM
Behavioral 1-2.5 mg slow IV push
Seizure 2-6 mg IV,IM, IO
RSI sedation 0.1-0.3 mg/kg max of 10 mg
Infusion Bolus 0.01-0.05 mg/kg
Maintenance 1-7 mg/hour
