Generally reds made for early consumption. Carbonic maceration produces wines with fruity low tannin wines.

Beaujolais AOC
38 designated villages allowed to use Beaujolais-Villages or append their name to the label. They are found in the middle section below the crus but above the area for basic Beaujolais in the south.
10 of the 38 villages, the Beaujolais Crus have an AOC for red only. Only the name of the village is on the label. Among the best known are Fleurie, Moulin a Vent, and Morgan. As a group the Crus produce 1/3 of the wine in Beaujolais
