English is not their first language

Deaf or blind service users struggle to communicate.

Medical conditions inhibits communication e.g stutter/stammer.

Not being able to understand medical terminology e.g. Such as a learning difficulty.

A

Religious beliefs disagree with treatments on offered e.g. Jehouah witness won’t allow blood transfusion.

In certain cultures, women won’t want to be examined unless by female doctors.

Service may not provide for cultural needs e.g. No veggie/halal foods or no praying room.
