Features of the Children’s Act?

A

This Act brought in the paramouncy principle.

Gives children right e.g. To be protected from abuse.

Try to keep children within the wider family circle.

Decisions are made and quick as possible in hopes children get over trauma as quick as possible.

Multi-disciplinary team- make sure all the professionals are working together e.g teacher and doctors.
Care orders/ emergency orders.

Decisions are made quickly

Children get to stay with their family.

A

Children aren’t aware of their rights/legalisation.

Professionals are to busy/ workload is too high to spend enough time with each family. There isn’t enough social workers or money.
