Arming
- Lift cover of Mode selector panel
- Move arming/disarming lever to ARMED position
- Close cover and check that arming/disarming lever is fully in the red band and girt bar indicators are yellow
- cross check the opposite door is armed and confirm with IC by interphone

- Life cover of mode selector panel
- Move arming/disarming lever to disarmed position
- close cover and chck that the arming/disarming lever is full in the Green band and girt bar indicators are not visible
- cross check that the opposite door is disarmed and confirm with IC by interphone

the cover for the evacuation rope becomes visible only once the door is fully open.

One end of the evacuation rope is already attached to a fixed part of the aircraft, the other end (snap hook end) must be attached to the fitting on leading edge of the wing, outboard of the engine.

Streamers
When seated in a jumpseat, FA must pull on the yellow streamer that falls from the oxygen panel to reach the oxygen mask. the streamer has a tab at the bottom that reads PULL.

- oxygen flow is available when the mask or yellow streamer attached to the mask is pulled.
- a decompression horn will sound continuously in the crew rest area.
- the green oxygen indicator light located above the stair will illuminate.
- push the HORN SHUT OFF switch (@common area) to silence the decompression alarm horns in the crew rest.

- Rotate the isolation valve “T” handle clockwise
- close the valve. (closing this valve at L2 will cut all water supply forward of doors 2)

- affected jumpseat is not occupied
- jumpseat can be stowed or secured in the retracted position
- if MEL does not identify an alternate seat, the CCM will either occupy an operative adjacent jumpseat or the most accessible pax aisle seat, in a row directly fwd or aft of the assigned jumpseat. if the alternate seat is a pax seat, cc must ensure: CREW ONLY, seat not occupied by a pax during flight.

A 777 can be dispatched with a partly or completely inop PA System, however, IC must:
- Ensure flight deck/cabin interphone 2 way and call chimes system operate normally from all positions.
- Ensure megaphones are available and functional
- Use megaphone for communication in the event of an emergency and for safety annoucement.
- Advise CC of situation and arrange signal with FAs whose emergency positions are in an area where public address system is inaudible.
- Advise PIC that CC have been briefed on all normal and emergency procedures.

A 777 can be dispatched with inop handsets, however, IC must:
- Ensure 50% of handsets operate normally and that they are located at operative cabin jumpseat.
- Advise CC of location of inop hansets and of alternate means of communication
- Advise PIC that CC has been briefed on normal and emergency procedures.
