What is global warming ?
The gradual increase in the earth temperature
What is the cause of global warming ?
Greenhouse gasses trap heat that has eneteesd the earth atmosphere
However this has been increased due to the brining of fossil fuels
What are some examples of fossil fuels and their source ?
Methane- agriculture, cows passing wind + paddy fields
Carbon dioxide- burning of fossil fuels
What are the effects of global warming ?
Melting ice caps
Risks of flooding
Migration of birds to cooler climates
Extinction
Disease moving to warmer climates
Unpredictable weather patterns
What does peer review help with ?
Detecting false claims and make sure research is valid
What is the issue with media reporting of global warming ?
It is not subject to peer review
Meaning
It can be oversimplified, inaccurate or biased
What are some insects like mosquitoes going to be able to do if global warming contiues ?
Be able to move to what was once cooler climates
Such as the UK, this is because they can’t currently survive in the cooler climate
