What is a phenotype?
The phycical appearance of someone regarding a particular charatristic
What is a genotype?
The genetic makeup of an individual regarding a particular characteristic
What is an allele?
Alternat forms of genes
What is an dominant gene?
Alleles which will always be expressed in the phenotype when it is put up againt a recesive gene.
It is shown with a capital letter
What is a recessive gene?
A gene which will not be presented in the phenotype if it is put up against a dominant gene
What is ment by homozygous?
A person with the same type of alleles
What is ment by heterozygous?
A person with differnt types of alleles
What is an gamete?
The sex cells which contain only 1 set of chromosomes and therefore carry only 1 alleles
What is an offspring?
The generation resulted by reproduction
What are the sex cells for male?
Sperm
Pollen (in plants)
What are the sex cells for females?
Egg cell
Ovum (in plants)
