Q

amino acids

A
  • chains of molecules called amino acids make up proteins.
  • each different protein has its own particular number and order of amino acids.
  • this gives each protein a different shape, which means proteins can have different functions. order of bases in a gene decides the order of amino acids.
  • each amino acid is coded for by a sequence of three bases in the gene, called the triplet code.
