AW139 PTS - Pitot & Static system Flashcards
Describe the Air Data System (ADS)
2 heated pitot/static probes
2 Air Data Modules (ADM)
2 Temp probes
Pitot static probes fed into the ADMs which calculates BARALT, IAS and VS.
Static lines are interconnected to compensate for imbalance.
OAT interfaces with the MAU to adjust TAS.
The Stby system uses the Left hand system (number 1)
Left ADM is on Main Bus 1 and the right ADM on ESS BUS 2
How many pitot static systems do we have installed?
2
Where is a static or pitot miscompare displayed in the cockpit?
An amber IAS displayed on the IAS indicator
How do we diagnose which PFD is the correct data during a miscompare?
Difficult because the standby instrument is fed from the number 1 system…
How do we turn an ADS system off?
Pulling the associate ADM circuit breaker.
Where are the static ports?
One in each of the pitot-static probes
Are the pitots heated?
YES
on below 4deg C
Do we have an alternate static source?
Yes - each side has one.
How does the aircraft get its temperature
From OAT probes on the bottom of the fwd fuselage
