How many linear actuators are associated with the autopilots?
3 sets of dual linear actuators
Pitch / Roll / Yaw
How many trim actuators are there?
4
P/R/Y/C
Can we turn force trim off?
YES
on the misc panel - but not permitted to IAW the FCOM
Can we fly IFR with the force trims off?
NO
FCOM says that we should fly in ATT mode - which needs the Force Trim to be on
What are the limitations with one AP off?
Max airspeed = VNE - 27kt
Max airspeed climb - 100kts
Max rate of climb - 1000fpm
What is the minimum airspeed to engage an upper mode (no SAR)
0 - ALT, RHT
41 - GA
50 - DECEL, RNAV APP
60 - IAS, HDG, NAV, VS, APP, BC, ALTA
How slow can you beep back with IAS engaged?
50kts
What does the GA function do?
Selects 1000’ ROC, rolls wings level, 80kts (or higher if at that speed)
Sequences the next waypoint and engages LNAV (Phase 7)
What triggers the auto-level?
Radar height
When will auto-level engage when on an approach and en-route?
Approach - 150ft AGL down to 50ft
En-Route - GS or VGP caption on the PFD will be replaced by ALVL if you have a collective mode engaged
