Irrigation systems developed in the 1980s-90s. They are both a form of drip irrigation, limiting the water usage and the timing of irrigation.
PRD (partial rootzone drying) is becoming a favorite as it can lower water usage to up to 50%, it irrigates one side of the vine row at a time, leaving ‘‘half’’ of the vineyard dry farmed.
