turn your marker lights
full cab unattended
ensure park brakes have applied
go to the other unit, raise the pantos
confirm park brakes are applied
marker lights centre light goes green
inspect the coupler
cut in, notch 1 and ease up, you should get a sudden drop in brake pipe pressure
if the newly attached train is to remain in the yard do you need to do continuity?
no
continuity test 2 drivers
in the centre cabs ensure park brakes are applied
attaching driver place brake controller to step 7
assisting observe 245 in the BC
open van area cock for 15 seconds observe BP below 300 and then close and above 425 in 40 seconds
attaching observe rapid drop in BP
Increase BC to 275
BP back to 425
BC back to 245
give the all right
bunch up
ensure park brake is applied train line
cut in
release local park brake
brakes off notch 1
brake step 7
shut off
reverser off
brake controller to EMY
reverser to neutral
press buttons 5 seconds
ensure lugs become inclined and electrical doors close
markers lights auto in BOTH units, check SPB applied on other unit and stable if necessary,
test the new cab
coupler doors remain open 2 drivers
move them 3 units apart
to move a unit with the coupler doors open you have to close the end cocks and to do that the pantos need to be down and then you can raise and move
one is in the cab SPB applied, neutral press uncouple buttons while other driver uses switch stick on BP SENSOR
failure to divide
if the indicators fail to go to the inclined position
ensure marker lights are off
reverser neutral
press uncouple buttons
if it still fails ease up on one unit (bunch up again?) re-attempt divide
report and boom do not use the rip cord
