8
Q

Development of the earths atmosphere

A

The earth was formed 4.5 billion years ago
Volcanoes released large amounts of carbon dioxide water vapour and small amounts of other gases including ammonia methane and nitrogen
The water vapour eventually cooled and condensed and made rain.
Carbon dioxide was dissolved into oceans.Reducing the amount of CO2
In the atmosphere
After the first billion years life began and CO2 was converted into oxygen.
Oxygen levels started to rise and plant started to decrease the levels of carbon dioxide.
Humans evolved

Q

Greenhouse effect

A

The greenhouse effect is the process through which heat is trapped near Earth’s surface by substances known as ‘greenhouse gases.’ Imagine these gases as a cozy blanket enveloping our planet, helping to maintain a warmer temperature than it would have otherwise.
