What is the Fund for Athletic Excellence? (AE)
An annual fund for Navy Athletics, which provides Physical Mission resources to all 36 varsity programs and 16 club sports. $3 million annual goal
What is the Physical Mission?
Goal to prepare midshipmen physically to become professional Navy and Marine Corps officers. -NAPS support -Club and intramural support
What are the current Capital Projects for Athletics?
$26 million new men and women’s LAX center, locker room updates, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium enhancements
How many students are selected each year for A&SP?
50 students per year, 16 affiliated prep schools, 12 civilian and 4 military
What is the Athletic and Scholarship Program (A&SP)?
Known by many as the original foundation as it was established in 1944. Falls under the broader Enterprise construct today with the same mission: to raise money to support the Physical Mission and to provide scholarships for Foundation Prep School students prior to beginning their USNA Plebe year.
What is an A&SP Trustee?
A Trustee board comprised of 250 trustees- they have a minimum requirement of an $2,500 annual gift - $750 (dues) $1750 (AE). They meet twice a year to review athletics priorities and initiatives.
Navy Athletics Numbers (2021-2022)
30% of Brigade competes at varsity level, 42% of female Midn are varsity athletes, 15 conference champs, 19 All-Americans, 1 Patriot League Cup, 15 National/Conference Coaches of the year, 20 4-star series wins, 88.7% graduation rate, 6 Patriot League Scholar Athletes, Past 3 valedictorians were NAAA student-athletes

What is Blue-N-Gold?
Our athletics booster club that provides some donor benefits, annual fund, no recognition through the Foundation (we do not track blue and gold donors in our database)
What is the NAAA?
The Naval Academy Athletic Association is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization charged with providing resources to support the varsity and junior varsity programs offered by the Naval Academy. Over 90% of funding support for the NAAA programs is through external sources of revenue (i.e. Blue-N-Gold memberships, ticket sales, corporate sponsorship, television revenue, parking, etc.)
What is the Student-Athletes Center?
The Ron Terwilliger ‘63 Center for Student-Athletes -The 25,000 square foot expansion to Ricketts Hall features a number of exhibits honoring the history and success of the Physical Mission at USNA as well as the 1984 Team Meeting Room, Gurneé Executive Conference Room, and the new Class of 1972 Sports Performance & Rehabilitation Center and Akerson Theater. The $27 million project was completed in 2021 and was officially dedicated on September 11th 2021.
What is the Midshipmen Activities Fund (MAF)?
The Naval Academy offers an environment designed for midshipmen to develop their leadership through extracurricular activities (ECAs), club sports, professional organizations, and academic groups, both on and off the Yard. MAF provides funding for activities that would not otherwise exist at the individual, company, or Brigade level.
What does N* (pronounced N-star) represent?
The N* is granted every time a varsity Navy team beats West Point during a designated game. We add a pennant to the Flagpole near the visitor’s center
What is the AE goal for FY24 and FY25?
FY24 goal is $3.61 million
FY25 goal is $4.05 million (400k increase for AE)
