Academic Majors
USNA has 26 majors. The two newest are Foreign Area Studies and Data Science. All graduates receive Bachelor of Science regardless of major due to techincal content of core curriculum
Schools and Divisions
5 distinct areas include: School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Engineering and Weapons, School of Math and Science, Division of Leadership Education and Development (LEAD), and Division of Professional Development
BGO- Blue and Gold Officer
a volunteer in a particular community that aids prospective students in their application process, as well as promotes USNA in their local school systems - this is run through the Office of Admissions and is not a AA&F volunteer opportunity
Summer Seminar
a six-day experience where prospective student, rising HS seniors, can experience what life as a midshipman is like, including academic, military, and physical trainings
Summer STEM
a six-day STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) camp for rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders
Admissions Excellence
Marketing, education, and outreach programs to connect with the Yard, admissions, and community leaders/political leaders -Summer STEM camp -Summer Seminar Program -Candidate visit weekend
Centers of Influence (COI)
Private philanthropy -2 day seminar -USNA hosts educators, community leaders, guidance counselors to learn more about the Academy
Inspire Program
The INSPIRE program was launched as a test program in the fall of 2021 to (1) improve completion application rates, and (2) compete with other elite institutions for highly qualified minorities in underrepresented groups by providing them and at least one parent a personalized experience which included direct interaction with minority graduates stationed at USNA, pairing with a minority midshipmen, a dedicated dining experience that included a notable minority guest speaker, and personalized interaction with Admissions staff.

The average application completion rate for the Class of 2026 was 32% overall and 27% for minority students
Offers includes direct admission or one of USNA’s preparatory programs
100% of the juniors who attended the INSPIRE program also applied to Summer Seminar
The Classes of 2026 was the second most diverse in Brigade History and the Class of 2027 is similarly on track.

SET Sail
Summer Training for educators -addresses USNA and national need for more young people to pursue careers in science and engineering; particularly in areas of interest to the military

Applications: 10,231 men + 4,496 women = 14,2727 total. Appointments: 938 men + 441 women = 1,379 total. Class size: 805 men + 370 women = 1,175 total
