ATA 63 - MR DRIVE Flashcards
When will a HIGH ROTOR RPM warning be triggered?
109% Nr
When are Rotor RPM sensors tested?
during the automatic power up self test done by HELIONIX
If the Main Xmsn RPM pick-up fails, how is rotor RPM monitored?
By the TR pick-up
When will a LOW ROTOR RPM warning be triggered?
94% Nr
What RPM can the rotor brake be applied?
50% Nr
How many stage reduction is the MGB?
2 stage
What is the free wheel clutch for?
to prevent the MGB driving the engines
How many parts is the MGB made up from?
2
On what part of the MGB would the filler neck be found?
the upper half
What is in the upper half of the MGB?
Upper bearings of the gear shaft, the mast and oil filler neck. The it serves as a cover.
What type are the lower MGB mounts?
Trunnions
What other purpose do the lower MGB Trunnions have?
They act as a stop, coupled withe the ariframe mount, in the case of an emergency if the torque rod broke.
The bearing for the mast is what type?
a doube-row self-alinging roller bearing
What job doe the lower of the doube-row self-alinging roller bearing do?
Takes axial loads
What job does the upper of the doube-row self-alinging roller bearing do?
allows mast bendings and takes radial loads.
How many torque rods are there and what material are they made from?
Two titanium torque rods
What is the purpose of the torque rods?
They transfer the main rotor reaction torque and resulting longitudinal forces into the airframe structure.
How many axis do the MGB mounts support?
Three - Longditudinal, Lateral & Vertical
When will a MGB LOW PRESS warning illuminate?
When oil px of BOTH circuits drop below 1 bar
How many indications will a MGB LOW PRESS warning give?
Three - Warning unit, Master List, Voice message from AMC 1
How many chip detectors are on the MGB?
Two
When is Mast Moment indication visable?
below 50kts, or above 50knts and 54%.
If a difference in oil px is sensed between the two systems, what advisory will be illuminated?
MGB TREND advisory
The Oil Temperature system of the main gear box is monitored by means of what?
High Temp caution, temperture indication, circuit monitoring
When is the Chip Indication continuity test perfromed?
During the power-up-self-test and then continually every 10 minutes during flight.
